the pastor wright video: lying by ommission.

now a few disclaimers before i post this. firstly, i’m obviously not a christian and i’m definitely not a supporter of Obama and his kinder friendly capitalism, but i think this story is important regardless because it shows pretty blatantly how the media framing of issues distorts their meaning. Beltaine’s Fire, live @ anti-war rally in Richmond

this is our first good video recording of the band, thank’s to GWB’s tax rebate laura went out and bought a new video camera and we got our friend charlie to record us onstage.

the rally was organized by Direct Action to Stop the War and was against the chevron refinery in richmond where they proccess crude looted from iraq and where the company’s complete disregard for the environmental impacts of their pollution has left thousands of people with cancer and asthma. oh the joys of capitalism. anyway, hope ya’ll enjoy the video and pass it on if you like it!

Join the IWW

I just found this video advertising the IWW that uses part of my cover of ‘Solidarity Forever’ (off Soundtrack for Insurrection Volume II) in it’s soundtrack.

I’m a long time supporter and former member of the IWW and highly recomend it to anyone and everyone who’s looking to get a union started in their workplace and wants a union with low dues and real functional direct democracy, a union that will stand up for and support its members and not make backroom deals with the boss, and a union that’s really and truly dedicated to building the power of the working class.

you can find more info on the IWW and even sign up as a member through their website - http://www.iww.org/

Similar debates rage throughout the rest of the world as well. Everywhere one looks one sees populations in flux, Diasporas in the making. Read more »
