Green leaves, trees, I don’t mean weed,
I mean forests as far as the eye can see
Let me breathe it in, love the oxygen
Rush when I bust, don’t box me in
I need clean air and water that’s safe to drink
Straight from the river, fuck a kitchen sink
On the brink of disaster hopin’ we don’t sink
And just being in the woods makes me think
We’re all connected, in a world wide web
You could call it food chains or the internet
But really, it’s all about putting down roots
Intertwined underground and the sound of my boots
As I walk along is all the beat I need
Stopping for a second to plant a seed

Watch the sunset, as the clouds turn red
The wind picks up and it blows overhead
Throw some wood on the fire, to keep me warm
And I can feel the winds shift there’s a gathering storm
Just off the horizon, gonna rain tonight
So I crawl into my tent, hold my lady tight
enjoying the peace and camaraderie
there’s nowhere on earth I would rather be
then right here, right now, and I don’t know how
long it will last or how things will turn out
but I’m living in the moment, for a moment at least
as the rain comes down, just feelin at peace
with the whole of creation, I know I have a place in
and at the moment that place is laying adjacent
to the woman I love, so I forget my sorrow
and remember this moment when we face tomorrow.

Sunrise in the mountains is glorious
Exactly what we needed to fuel our lust
For each other and this whole big beautiful world
I can forget my cares, just be a boy with a girl
In a beautiful place at a beautiful time
Much more then I could ever capture in rhyme
These are the moments that I live for
A moment of peace in an endless war
But there’s rent to pay, bills to pay,
And until the revolution the only way
To meet those obligations is to sell my life
A balancing acto on the edge of a knife
But for one short weekend in the wilderness
I can let it all go and just exist
So I pack up the tent, give my lady a kiss
And just wish that our whole lives could be like this
